Beaver County Sheriff Candidate Tony Guy receives endorsement

Beaver County Sheriff Candidate Tony Guy received the endorsement of Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge #4 at their monthly meeting this evening.  Beaver Valley Lodge #4 represents approximately 300 members, and comprises nearly all of the municipal police offers in Beaver County as well as the rank and file deputies of the Sheriff’s Office.

The endorsement was based on an extensive 10-point questionnaire, which both candidates had responded to during the primary season.  Both candidates were also given an opportunity to speak to the membership.  The Lodge by-laws require a two thirds super majority to endorse a candidate.  The motion to endorse Guy passed by a unanimous vote.

“I’ve spoken to dozens of Beaver County police officers since launching my campaign.  To a man they’ve expressed their concern about the current Sheriff’s office and the need for drastic change.” Guy stated.  “During that time and through this endorsement process they’ve gotten to know my management background and command experience with the Pennsylvania State Police.  This unanimous endorsement indicates that the good men and women of law enforcement in Beaver County recognize that the Sheriff’s Office needs someone with leadership skills rather than a reactionary personality.  I commend the leadership and members of Lodge #4 for their commitment to developing a truly professional law enforcement community and I pledge to live up to my commitment to them to clean up the Sheriff’s Office.”
